[rom]-- Smiui Rom -- Ultimate Custom Rom --[multilang,stable/weekly]


I already played around with TWRP but could not succeed as the SD card was not mounted, so I switched back to MI recovery. Could you please post a link to yoour working TWRP? I guess installation is via fastboot (flashing the img-file), correct?

Merged or old partition layout? You may have installed incorrect version of a recovery.

And yes, the installation is via fastboot flashing the .img file (first you need to unlock the bootloader)
 
I am on sMIUI 5.7.9 with merged partition.

I tested flashing TWRP from here https://www.mediafire.com/folder/ue5d5ae38fabx/Aries#8t46u9tya5g17

Gladly, you already answered some of my questions in the xda-thread regarding the general procedure. Using the fastboot comands to unlock the bootloader and flash the img-file is not the problem. Not being able to access my SD-card is it...^^ Maybe it's only a wrong img...

I really appreciate your help and hope that my questions are not OT...

Now I got TWRP to run with the download from here: http://xiaomi.eu/community/threads/...0-2-8-2-0-for-mi2-s-supports-tdb.25982/page-4

However, it's Chinese... :-(

EDIT: I got TWRP as well as CWM (6051) to run, however, both cannot access my SD card. Any hint?

FYI.... I like SMiui on Mi Note.... Got a better battery compared to original miui version.... Keep this up

How do I increase the volume in smiui? Ever since installing the latest normal rom on my mi2s, the volume has been really soft. Can't use aroma installer with mi2s from what I've been reading...?

Do you mean volume of call or volume of media? If it's call issue, lowering and increasing again worked for me. Guess it's some ear protection bullsh*t or whatever :)

Install a custom rom via fastboot and use aroma version
 
I am on sMIUI normal with miRecovery. I flash TWRP now and i want to update with AROMA version. Is it safe? Dirty flash of course. Mi2s

AROMA version and Normal version are the same rom, but with a different installer. So you can flash AROMA version on Normal version

And there is the 1m dollar question. I flash with TWRP the AROMA version, and the phone stucked at the first 4 lines. Then i search for another camera to upload this, asking for help. When suddenly after 4-5 minutes ... voila... it starts again!! Hours before i tried to install with the same TWRP the FlymeOS and (i don't remember exactly) it says that E: failed to mount or sth like this.. (and there is the 1m dollar question) So i am asking this, if i wait and wait such as now (with this flash/update) will it works? Is this a problem that sth is busy and I have to wait? Or FlymeOS L was a different situation? I am asking too much but i hope your experience could help... Thanks in advance

In my Mi2s too happens the same thing.. "Device or resource busy", and after some minutes the installation starts.. But I noticed that if in Aroma I select "quad core no limits of clock", 2 of the 4 cores are in any case stopped and can't be activated and there is no limit of clock. Why the 2 cores are stopped if I select quadcore?

Is the phone in performance mode?

You need to switch to performance mode. I think seb made this clear. I read a note about this. As for my issue i will test it and i confirm this

but first I want to know IF:
1- I lose any of my installed apps or data or no?
2- What about weekly updates & how to install it?
3- and what about MI account & Themes?

4- And how to revert back to oroginal MIUI if something go wrong ???

and whats the differents between (aries, cancro & virgo)

1. No
2. Same of Miui using Normal version
3. All works
4. As you install smiui (flashing smiui file .zip)

Aries cancro virgo ecc ecc are the devices.
Aries is the name of Xiaomi Mi2(s) for example

So, now that I'm on smiui 5.7.16 with merged partitions, its possible to install the next smiui release with aroma installer? Would I do this via mirecovery (renaming rom to update.zip and put it in root of sdcard) or can it be done using the mi update app? Sorry if asking too much, just want to make sure I'm doing this correctly! Thanks

If U want to install sMiui with Aroma, you've to flash it only via custom recovery and not with Updater or Mirecovery. If you want to flash Normal version, you can use Updater app

Hi guys,

I'm on a Mi Note (64GB) and I've been using sMIUI from #day1 of my ownership.

On 5.7.16 I have a BIG PROBLEM!
Since I listen to music a lot this is very important. My Playlists from 5.7.9 (and all previous versions) can't be opened. I touch them in the Music Player but they just don't open up or get played. A Titanium restore doesn't do the trick.

Is that a known problem on this version? Is there a workaround? I've switched back to 5.7.9 but staying there is not a very nice option, as you might agree.
