I just upgraded my Xiaomi Mi Note Pro to v5.9.1 Developer and everything worked perfectly.

Steps Followed:
1° Enter to TWRP v2.8.6.0
2° Install/Flash "xiaomi.eu_multi_leo_5.9.1_v7-5.0.zip"
3° Wipe Cache + Wipe Dalvik Cache
4° Reboot System

... and works properly!!

Could someone make mocha developer rom to fastboot rom. Update failed bigtime and only way I get to MiPad work is now is fastboot mode. MI Pc Suite try to flash it from chinese servers, but download fails everytime. If someone can help so I can fix this with MiFlash I would be really happy. Sorry for the trouble. :-(

You can download fastboot rom using download accelerator it will only take a couple of minutes with a high speed connection that way.

Did a cleaning to the memory and apps' cache, a system backup (just in case), and then installed the update, followed by a reboot.
For now, everything seems to be running smoothly, no bugs detected! Didn't lose theme, everything at its place, except the widgets, which I had to replace (happens always, anyway).
(follow up on my previous answers - didn't lose the hotspot functionality)

Thank you. Do you have a fastboot rom? Sometimes my phone stuck in boot loop and I have to correct with flashing by fast boot. I cannot find the rom for fastboot here.

I used this tool to root n flash the TWRP recovery into my Mi4i...backup the IMEI then start flashing the EU update from here...

Flashing:
1) boot to recovery
2) nandroid backup (if you want to)
3) clear cache n dalvic cache
4) flash the update
5) clear cache n dalvic cache
6) reboot
