I don't think so as I update with TWRP several times and no issue occurs.. But don't use updater app as it's change the recovery from TWRP to Mirecovery.

I have done exactly what you told me to do...after flash 5.12.17 twice the system partition was merged..I checked that. but while flashing to 6.1.21 I am stuck on bootloop(mi logo) for almost an hour after that I have done clear cache and user cache then after several restart (almost 10-15...
