I had exactly the same issues. (Lots of posts ago) To went back to Android 9 i needed a newer TWRP version. Official works. But..after the backflash the phone starts "fresh", means same as factory reset. So back your data before a backflash.

So guys, after testing with my Max 3 i guess the camera2api module cant get working at time. Also the viper4 android doesnt work and produces a bootloop. Those who need the *no-support-for-this-app-on-this-forum* better waits some weeks for a fix.

I always use Xiaomi.eu roms. I flashed the revised Android Q via TWRP. After bad test i also wants to go back via TWRP, but luck. Thats my prob.

No way to enable camera2api on MiMax 3. Also Viper4android4 gives after magisk install a bootloop. Tried to went back to last Android 9 version - no boot, goes after minutes to TWRP recovery mode....any suggestions ?

Dirty flash on my MiMax 3. Everything works fine, so far. Root with magix also succsessful. Needs some days for testing if something went wrong. Good job . Thx.

Die "Weekly updates" sind halt nicht lange ausgestestet. Deshalb gibts ja vom Hersteller nur alle paar Monate nen Update. Wer sich also vorm flashen ziert, sollte lieber bei der "official rom" bleiben, oder ein paar bugs hinnehmen. Zum Max3 : Soweit ich bei mit feststellen konnte waren die roms...

Same issue as 9.3.7. Battery drains much faster then 9.3.1. Switched back to that rom. Decice : Mi Max 3 6/128gb. Anony

Sounds you use wrong or outdated TWRP. Look by XDA Developers Board, you will find the right one.

After some tests on my Mi Max 3 - 6GB/128GB - i can say : flash, boot, new flash magisk 18, rebbot and start was fast and without any probs. First issue , known since rom 8.12.20 is the google assistant. Wants setup the phone for first time. Can´t stop this with any trick. Comes temporary...
