The updater app is not solely used for OTA updates. You can also use it to install a .zip file. So it is still useful.

Have you tried: 1. installing twrp.img in fastboot 2. typing ''fastboot reboot'' 3. Then holding the volume + on your device? (be quick with this after you use the previous command and keep holding it until you're in twrp) That should get you into twrp too.

@RelRedHair I also had the problem with the touchscreen not working in Twrp. What I did was put the .zip file with the rom on the mipad once in twrp. Then disconnect the mipad from your computer. Once it's disconnected I plugged in a mouse via a otg cable. With the mouse I could navigate...
