Same here almost a month ago, never tried again, I don't understand multiple topics since then, since these available twrp are not official, was waiting for an official one but still not coming. And from what I've understood, even with any xiaomi.eu rom on mi9t, there are still a few problems...

Waiting for the official twrp image for Mi9t because I've tried to install eu rom like I did usually after unlock, with the unofficial "davinci", it was a complete failure, got "softbricked" my device. I can't understand the procedure everybody is using right now, so I prefere waiting until...

I did not install "EU ROM" yet on my new Mi9t and I kind of have the same touch issues that you are having, so I don't think it's EU ROM's fault.

Mi Max 3, using this rom, like it very much as much as the previous ones, waiting for tomorrow's release for Android Pie on Mi Max 3 ! Still the same problem when i lose my LTE data (in the underground metro for example) and have it back, still not getting no whatsapp or mms until I activate...
