Thanks, I figured it out last night ;-). The problem is that as soon as I reboot into fastboot mode, no unit is discovered in Windows. Same on my Mac and other PC as well. ADB = fine, reboot to fastboot = no device at all...

Just as I imagined, Xiaomi have NOT fixed this utterly annoying bug! Despite of what they said when I got a response from them. 12.5.17 not working.

Well, might be too soon to speak but 12.5.17 on Mi 11 ULTRA recent apps is working! Seems like this annoying issue has been fixed.

That's too bad! Feels like Xiaomi has this bug way down their to-do-list :-(
