Yeah, the global version is not bad, but different languages on your phone is annoying at times.

Maybe try to find the file with a file manager, to see what for file it is. To me the size of the file hints to a backup or downloaded rom. Some extra downloaded data needed for games after you installed them will also show up as "other files" .

No, when I plug my Mix2s in to the charger I still can use it. Or you're battery must be really really low and the battery optimizing kicked in, turning all kinds of things off.

Might be a local backup file, from the backup function if you have that switched on. You can make backups from your device locally and with Mi Cloud.

If you know how to flash a rom you're good to go. And it's not really a downgrade, you're installing a different rom. Downgrades don't brick devices just don't flash Icecream Sandwich on a device which came with Marshmallow shipped :)
