Why did you remove facelock? Is there any way to re-enable it?

Yepp, the battery might be the bottleneck, because it has to drive a much bigger screen and much stronger cpu. I wouldn't expect much longer battery life than a Mi2 has with a 2000 mAh battery (which is personally not enough for me). The specs are awesome though, and I would definitely buy one...
