Installed on Mi Mix 2 and no issues. But my phone isn't rooted or modded so...

I fixed it ! If you can only choose china under region you have to flash the latest global developer/stable rom using the fastboot method in MiFlash. (Clean All option). You'll have to flash TWRP again, but it's worth it as i can now choose as many regions as a like and face unlocking works !

A bit late but ... the new 8.4.4 build has an option under battery called "AI preload" - Use ML model to predict apps you will use and load resources in advance, obviously improve the app launching performance. (description)

Face unlock is gone. Xiaomi disabled it for some regions. You might be able to change your region when you go to settings and search for "region".

Same here. Might be because my phone was imported from china.

It's not working at all no matter what region you choose. His english is broken but that's what i understood from his messages.

You mean the region in my MI account? I can't change that. It's not letting me. Edit : I went back to 8.3.29 and face unlock is working just fine. Strange.

I didn't change anything. I just flashed 8.4.4 version over 8.3.29 and my face unlock option disappeared.

Why was face unlock removed ? (Mi Mix 2) Thanks.
