[guide] Update MIUI 12 (android 11) rom - MI 9 SE (possibly others)

In the end I had to format data partition, because I needed the phone by Monday. Yes it helped, but now I need to waste a lot of time to restore everything. And we still don't know what was wrong. EDIT: If I flashed that vbmeta.img, did it stay after formatting /data? It sounds dangerous, from...

[guide] Update MIUI 12 (android 11) rom - MI 9 SE (possibly others)

Yes, it had to be 12.0.1 then. But all you suggested there was nuking the phone memory. We don't even know what's the issue exactly and why it happened. I ran "adb logcat", but this doesn't tell me much and I couldn't find anything useful: 08-29 16:32:03.585 539 539 W libc : Unable to set...

[guide] Update MIUI 12 (android 11) rom - MI 9 SE (possibly others)

Hello, unfortunately this didn't help me. At first I couldn't even install new system, because nweset TWRP is bugged. I installed some modified and was able to proceed. I was on xiaomi.eu MIUI 12.0.1 stable and I updated to xiaomi.eu 12.5 stable. I think I also installed Magisk 23 in same run...

    Upgrade to miui 12.5

Thank you, but I was doing stable xiaomi.eu 12.0.1 -> stable xioami.eu 12.5. I tried both recoveries you mentioned and the effect is the same, after installing, wiping cache/dalvik, restarting to system, it constantly goes to recovery. I have 70 GB of personal files (I guess it's on /data...

    New Bugs miui 12.5/21.08.25

Updating Mi 9SE from xiaomi.eu stable 12.1 to stable 12.5 was problematic, because twrp-3.5.2_9-0-grus couldn't even install it, it was saying ROM is for grus and I have "" (nothing). I managed to install ROM with different twrp: twrp-3.4.0-2-grus-redispade but now the system doesn't start AT...

    Upgrade to miui 12.5

I did just like you wrote and system is broken, can't boot into it. I was updating from xiaomi 12.0.1 stable. What to do now? It goes to recovery or fastboot, depending on twrp installed.

    mi 9 turning off randomly.

I have very similar problem on Mi 9 SE, xiaomi.eu MIUI 12.1. It randomly restarts sometimes, but I think more often when charging. It used to happen more often, now it's rarer, but it sometimes still happens. 1 month with no problem and then 3 restarts in a week.

MIUI 11 MIUI 11.0 STABLE RELEASE

Where can I find changelog for Mi 9 SE? xiaomi.eu_multi_MI9SE_V11.0.2.0.QFBCNXM_v11-10.zip EDIT: I checked updates in phone settings and there's a small changelog there, but it's only 5 fixes, from which I only recognize 1 bug. Is that list complete? I don't get this forums, where can I report...

    [q] Question

Yes, of course, you need to flash root files after every ROM flash. What's the problem? Xiaomi.eu ROMs are unlocked, so just flash ROM and root right after it.

Direct Update From Miui 8.3 To 9.6

Yes, just wipe cache and dalvik in TWRP and install new ROM. It will update without losing files. But backup anyway. I updated from 8.5 to 9.5 without issues. Both roms by Xiaomi.eu

After Update A Lot Of Apps Start In Background

I have Redmi 4 Pro. I updated from MIUI 8.5 to 9.5.1.0. After that a lot of apps started opening in background and showing me notifications and eating my RAM. All of these apps have autostart turned off. Some of them are Telegram, Dropbox, Google Drive, Reddit reader (Bacon reader), quick pic...
