Whatsapp Requesting Superuser Access

Updated to the latest weekly a few days ago and now I'm getting this request regularly. I may have temporarily allowed it the first time (stupidly) but then denied. I still get the notifications that's it's trying to get root access though

I have read that it's malware but I'm not sure how to get rid of it. Apart from backing everything up and doing a clean install.

Any suggestions?

Root? Hmm thats sound fishy, do you get the apps from play store or direct download?

Whatapp I got from the Playstore. All my apps I've gotten from reputable sources. Fdrioid, Xda, etc
I think the suspicion is that malware is "impersonating" Whatsapp when it is requesting Superuser access.

Guess I'll just have to do a full wipe and reinstall this weekend.

Yup that's the solution
Hopefully with the new rom the malware gone
