i have the same problem too.
not have fake rom. i tried china stable and developer. problem not solved.
Can anybody solve the problem?

More people have this problem, it's most probable that Xiaomi has temporarily disabled the unlocking process because of all the bricked devices. http://en.miui.com/thread-843235-1-1.html
So your best bet is to just try again in a few days unfortunately. And of course make sure that you have the stock mi 5x bootloader before unlocking the device, and not the fake vendor rom.

So it seems i am one of few lucky bastards that manage tu unlock bootloader and put xiaomi.eu rom on it?
I am not programmer but is it possible when you unlock your phone and install TWRP to delete everything from phone (and OS) and then with SD card put new OS?
I cant remember what rom was on my phone but when i put twrp on my phone i accidently deleted OS, then with sd card i put xiaomi.eu rom on phone and everything works.
ps. sorry for my bad eng i am using google translate

Yes if you have a working version of TWRP you should be able to remove (wipe system) and install other roms, for example the Xiaomi.eu variant.
However with a hacked bootloader you should not try to unlock the device install TWRP or try installing a rom, this will brick your phone. The best way to check if you have the stock bootloader is go into fastboot (volume down + power) and check if you have a Mi Bunny https://imgur.com/dEQQyOo or a black screen. If you have the Mi Bunny everything should be fine if you follow the unlock tutorials, black screen means a vendor hacked bootloader.

- first flash official china dev rom
- install this vpn: https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B3P-IETNfSStMlRSYW9HaVVKZlk/
- choose china server
- go to Setting - Additional settings - Developer options - Mi unlock status
- switch off your phone - go into fastboot and then unlock using this toolkit miflash_unlock-en-2.3.803.10
- and then follow the step on this thread https://xiaomi.eu/community/threads/7-9-21-22.41658/ to install TWRP and EU ROM

it doesnt work now, xiaomi forbiden unlock now because there is lot of mi5x bricked because some vendors put false rom on device.
i unlocked my phone before and i put xiaomi eu rom but right now its not possible until xiaomi find solution for phones with false roms

I did it 2 days ago, I dunno bout others having problems unlocking, but it works for me

i tried but doesn’t work.... the error is the same couldnt unlock....you had the rom china developer in the mi5x before the unlock?

I've got official MIUI 8 china stable latest build out of the box, and then I falshed the latest china dev rom MIUI 9, and then unlock the BL successfully by following the steps from xda thread as I post it earlier
There are many fake roms installed on mi5x, makes sure you don't have fake roms out of the box, or else it will be hard to unlock the BL
i can t enable OEM unlocking in developer option.....when i activate the option and i go back and return in the option OEM UNLOCKING is disabled...does it happen to you too? Thank u
You have probably vpn problem. Download vpn app from ply store and put your lokation China.
