I flashed xiaomi.eu v9.0.3 Global Stable yesterday and everything seems to working fine except the miui video player. It crashes instantly.
I was coming from global stable v8.5.5 and TWRP 3.1.1-0. The video player app also isn't showing up under settings/system apps, in V8 it does. Is that normal?
I wiped dalvik/cache and reinstalled already but the problem still occurs.
Any solutions or anyone who is encountering this problem too?

Edit: ok...i replaced the miuivideo.apk in system folder with the one from Miui v8 of my old mi2s. That version is working.

Did you replaced it on you’re phone? Or did you replaced it in the image?
Can you maybe share this apk with us?

I used 9.0.3.0 for a few days and upgraded yesterday to 9.0.5.0.
Usage seems to be the same as 8.5.

I’m not experiencing any battery drain.
Only issue I have is the fact that Mi video doesn’t work (fc when starting).
Bit anoying but no deal breaker. I’m using VLC instead.

I replaced it on my phone in "system/priv-app/MiuiVideo" directory. You have to use rootexplorer. But it's just a workaround. To get the V9 working, wipe data in twrp (factory reset).
