Hi all! , I have the redmi note 5 - whyred with the global version 9.5 stable 9.5.6.0, I can move to the version xiaomi.eu_multi_HMNote5Pro_8.5.3_v9-8.1, I have rollback protection 3 ...
I already have root and unlocked bootloader...

Certamente Easy for you boot Image twrp from adb Remember stay in fastboot
Install Image twrp.img(previosly put into internal storage ) with twrp pitch on recovery ...wipe ....
Reboot into recovery put into internal storage your rom
Format data ..wipe facotory reset
Install rom .zip

I know eu rom don't have rollback protection, but does this mean that I with redmi note 5 (MIUI 10 and anti 4) can install eu rom without bricking? Of course, after I unlock bootloader and install twrp, I'll found somewhere how to do it.

Thank you, as soon as have time, I will try it. After few years on eu rom, using official global rom is a real pain, must change it as soon as possible.

EDIT: Forgot too add device to unlock section in MIUI and now have to wait 360 hours. It's really frustrating.
