[GUIDE][venus|star|mars] How to install Xiaomi.eu ROM for Xiaomi MI11 / Pro / Ultra

Hi
Today I Install the last weekly rom 12.5.2 for the Mi 11 Ultra via My pc and fastboot mode to enter in TWRP recovery.

My problem is that I can't install the TWRP in my phone : after runing powershell or CMD I have this result :

PS C:\adb> fastboot flash recovery twrp.img
target reported max download size of 805306368 bytes
sending 'recovery' (196608 KB)...
OKAY [ 5.229s]
writing 'recovery'...
FAILED (remote: (recovery_a) No such partition)
finished. total time: 5.236s
PS C:\adb>
I need help

in germany we say "wer lesen kann ist klar im vorteil"

start / boot - not flash - into "twrp"

Do this to start twrp
# fastboot boot twrp.img

Dont do this to start twrp on A/B devices
# fastboot flash recovery twrp.img

And this I dont recommend as well
# fastboot flash boot_a twrp.img
# fastboot flash boot_b twrp.img

Short explanation:

Devices with A/B partition scheme don't have a recovery partition so you cant "flash recovery twrp.img"
You can only boot in recovery mode with "fastboot boot twrp.img"

To permanently flash recovery to A/B devices, you need to unpack both boot.img (A/B) from device
Replace the ramdisk with the one extracted from twrp.img and repack then flash boot.imgs back to device ...

Do I need to do this step:
"Go to "Advanced" and select "Onekey inject TWRP" in order for the TWRP to persist when I go into recovery?

Why would you not want TWRP? Do you want to install each update manually? :)

Good question, i will keep my mi 11 ultra for 5 or 6 months and then i will sell it. And i thought it would be easier to reset my phone with fastboot rom instead of removing twrp etc?

You can do it, but it does make sense only if you don't want latest xiaomi.eu roms :) Latest stable and latest weekly already include TWRP so you don't have to inject it. Just`fastboot boot twrp.img` and install your rom, that's all you need to have a persistent twrp

what are you doing ? you dont need fastboot rom version if you have twrp

1. download the rom version 12.5.7 to your pc
2. start your phone not in recovery and not in fastboot, start it as always
3. copy 12.5.7 rom zip file from pc to your phone with usb
4. power off your phone and start it in fastboot (power and vol-)
5. open cmd and switch to the folder with fastboot.exe
6. the twrp.img should be in this folder as well
7. fastboot boot twrp.img
8. twrp should be displayed on your phone
9. change the language in twrp (the lower right button)
10. click on install in twrp
11. navigate to the folder where you have copied the 12.5.7 rom version
12. install it

In most cases you can copy the file from pc to the phone while you have started twrp

PS: on monday I can unlock the bootloader on my mi11 ultra and I will see if it will be a challenge :)

When i put in cmd this

# fastboot boot twrp.img

i see such screen:

36841

What am i doing wrong. sir?

So for future updates I'll still have to connect my phone to the PC and then use the fastboot to boot the twrp. Thanks!

Nothing wrong. :)

But there is something wrong with your USB cable or your USB port (of your computer). So try:

1) Use another USB port (USB-2.0 port is recommended)

2) If no USB-2.0 port available, try with a "USB-2.0 Hub"

3) Try another USB cable

4) Try on another computer

;)

so, i can not boot up in OS, always in TWRP
Everything еоршы - after sucsessful flashing without errors of 12.5.7

And of course there is no firmware zip inside phone memory now.

What i need to do, guys?

You need to copy ROM to your phone or use otg usb stick. Then install ROM, wipe cache and dalvik, then reboot system. First boot time can be 10 mins, so just wait.

You might find twrp is now missing, so just download new update, install TWRP again using fastboot, then boot to twrp and flash latest .zip update using TWRP. Your be good to onwards then.

I am using Mi11 (not pro or ultra). I am on Beta Stable 15.5.5. (RKBCNXM)

The only new Rom for me to download, is the one that is for "fastboot-method".
How to install it using TWRP? Unpack it and move "Images"-folder to root of phone?
Or just wait untill the non-fastboot update arrives for Mi11?

And is it safe to already install TWRP, using the injection-method described here?

You cannot use a fastboot ROM on twrp. Sorry.

Just wanted to share that safetynet is fine now and my crashing apps are solved by factory reset. Still on 12.5.7 and all good.
After installing the rom, you just need to wait 24-48 hours, the device will be certified by google. No factory reset required
