Hummm, I don´t have my contacts in the international format +351... I wonder if thats the trick. Have to test it. Do you have any FC? Thanks a lot. Your settings re a good starting point.

Can you give more details on how to you have your settings? Gmail account contacts? local only? SIM card? Synchronized? System lang? Any clue is good to try to find the source of this issue.

I second that, and can only imagine how frustrating it is for you to try to make an omelet from rotten eggs. We ALL are beta testers. When Mi2s gets into a OS mature level, it will be my last xiaomi equipment. The specs-for-the-money don't pay off the awful OS.

I meant for updating. I´m sure, next week, there will be lots of people going lost in the process, assuming they still had custom recovery. For the more-used-to-mess-around-with-your-gadgets user it will be quite straightfoward without any how-to. Just to save you the harassment.

Still, not perfect, but a small price to pay for customization. I would just like to ask you to describe the installation process change in the OT, although not required for THIS particular update. Like you said, in the following ones, starting 5.5.1. Whenever you can, no rush.

One could just flash TWR/CWR recovery over again, then flash custom rom as usual? It would be just a additional step, wouldn't it?

Then use WiFi to download it. Also, you have a very steep graphic of batter usage. You definitely should look into that.

So instead of wondering why, install an app the gives you that answer. Plain simple. Also, there is a battery benchmark inside some apps like PCmark, I believe. Try to find one.

Thanks. Can you help me out? I cant see myself in the contributors list, and probably thats why I cannot see any "clone in windows" button as in instructions mention. Also, when I select "clone in desktop" I got the missing MSVCR110.dll error of GITHUB.exe, running in Win8.1Pro.

In CWR I wiped system 1 (current system in use), formated data, cache and wiped dalvik, make sure TDB is off. Then installed ROM, using custom settings: - Dual core 1.3GHz in balanced mode; - No stock browser, xFile browser, Miui animated walllpapers. - Selected custom animation (xylon?) - no...

Yes, that´s what I usually do when I play a more demanding game, but I don´t do that often. Also, besides the "unknown number", from a number stored in contacts, in the call log, I also still have BT problems: 1 - Audio to "dumb" BT speaker is fine, no issue; 2 - Making calls from radio reports...

Too soon to see the improvements you made, but still "unknown number" in call log, when the number belongs to someone in the Google contacts. The frequency limiter is really handy. Dual core 1.3GHz should suffice for most situations, except hardcore gaming. Thanks!

I suppose xiaomi have smart people and they figured ROM is currently the weakest point in they commercial offer. And they must also had figured if they dont fix it soon, there´s no new flagship that can save them from loosing a massive amount of customers. They just cannot sustain sales based on...

The ROM is rooted and it manages root permissions in the ROM´s safety app. If the apps cannot get root permissions, even if you gave them, and set permission to turn on/off data connection, then it´s the app´s fault. TomTom, for example, is able to connect data (aGPS) to acquire faster location...

No, there isn't, but the process is quite straightforward and safe. It boots in english.

Try to output a logcat. Find the app in appstore. It as to record the thing going on prior to the phone reboot, and probably led to it.

Works best with TDB off, go to CWR, advanced, mounts/storage, format data (backup first), cache and dalvik. If you still have space problems, in CWR 6.0.5.1, format System 1 and 2 prior to sMiui installation. This makes sure there will be no leftovers from any previous rom in System partition...
