You shouldn't be trying to patch TWRP img. Use Magisk only to patch your boot.img. You need to get fastboot to work somehow. And boot TWRP with fastboot command. Can you use a friend's desktop/machine ? Did you try to use a different USB port on your desktop? A different USB wire maybe ...

Reboot into TWRP and flash the original boot.img for your particular ROM again. That way u don't have root and Magisk modules will not run I'm assuming. Can you try that ? -- Sent from my Mi 11 Ultra (star)

Yes it's possible and it's good to have. In the case something goes wrong, it's easier to restore the whole backup image and get your phone working again. It's a huge backup size so copying the back up to your desktop is a nuisance. -- Sent from my Mi 11 Ultra (star)
