Since no one replied, it is a know feature of the app. Can be turned off in settings. Don't remember how, no longer on MIUI with my device.

Do some research on "Adoptable Storage" and the risk of using it, then you would probably be not looking for that feature.

Interesting what modules did you try? Did you get versions that have been updated to Nougat? Things like xMIUI haven't been updated last I checked. Any errors reported in installer logs? Where the modules still reported active after reboot? Edit: - Below list doesn't specify MIUI Nougat...
