You don't need to format data. Just unpack the .zip and click the fastboot_update. And when a TWRP is released which does work with Android 12, it should be possible to update via TWRP again, but we have to wait for that.

It is new Android 12 feature. It shows which apps are currently using Camera, microphone etc. Has nothing to do with app notifications. In your case, it shows that MIUI Biometric is using the camera, presumely because you have face unlock enabled.

No, it's not the only way. I just dirty flashed from a 11 to 12

I did a dirty flash from A11 to A12, everything went fine and everything is working fine. Of course, there are some small bugs, but nothing to worry about

1. You can't dirty flash, otherwise you'll end up in a bootloop. Going from weekly to stable, you need to format data (as it is stated in the stable ROM thread) 2. Make a backup first. I don't think you need the password to format in TWRP.

I also did a dirty flash. I don't have all the issues like brave and camera not working for example

Settings > apps > manage apps > 3 dots in the upper right corner > show system apps > search for permissions > delete app data

Read the first and second posts. You can also see it in the end of the name of the .zip you're downloading. If it says "fastboot", you do it with fastboot. If it doesn't say "fastboot", you do it with TWRP which currently doesn't work with Android 12 as far as I am aware

Just updated (Venus). So far so good. I will update this when there is something important to talk about.
