You're welcome Mike! I've got camera's here in China and to be honest, they too sometimes have connection issues from time to time... The main issue surrounding the dafang camera is that iSmart have USA / Canadian versions which sell for a higher price under the iSmart brand name and not Dafang...
We dont promote them :-) the likelihood is they purchased then unlocked the MAC for each of the devices prior to being shipped to EU or they may indeed have an agreement with iSmart for sales of the products. There is also a possibility they are EU versions but I would not be able to confirm...
Ali E is not official seller, you purchased from a 3rd party reseller in this instance. The clue should of been when they spelt Official with a ZERO instead of an O... also Xiaomi does not operate legitimate sales via Ali E.
Send email to feedback@hualaikeji.com with the original sales receipt and photo of your serial + MAC address from either: mi.com, jd.com or Mi tmall store or official sales channel. If you purchased on Ali E or China Grey Market traders then you have no chance to get the devices unlocked outside...
if the phone cant be unlocked with PIN, yes fastboot mode and flash_all (full erase) is only way which clears data / keylock etc, as the phone is 12 hours old there shouldn't be much if any critical data on the device.
mistype is impossible unless you mistyped it successfully twice in first instance. Phone will always ask for pin at first boot if a fingerprint was added.
Xiaomi want to make sure the products they are supporting are from valid sales channels, if you are using products sold for mainland China only then you need to take that issue up with the seller.
Once again missing the POINT though aren't you?
The products are SOLD for the sole intent of the Chinese consumer market, be that reason for issues of Support or sales it makes no difference. They are not selling these specific products in Europe, therefore there is no obligation for them to be...
But the product you purchased is NOT from official web site or store!~ so therefore you have no legal / consumer rights other than to refund the product through the 3rd party site /supplier.
DONT complain about the products not working when XIaomi didnt sell them officially to Europe, its fair...
Doesnt mean they have the resources to unofficially support the product! Sick of the complaints about this issue, people purchased CHINA only products knowingly.... What did you expect to happen?
If it makes you feel any less annoyed im living in China and when I go over to Hong Kong my camera's also fail to connect if not i China. Looks like someone in Xiaomi has messed something up at the Beijing end.
