The animations are not broken but Xiaomi proper seem to have disabled them on some devices they consider low level or as I put it the devices they seem need to pay for new devices. :D you can try using SetProp and changing deviceLevelList to see if makes any difference for you.

This forum is for a custom ROM, not official Xiaomi support. You can unlock your bootloader and install it or seek support in Mi community.

Well according to Xiaomi proper it is an very old, cheap device (I agree with the cheap part). Are you sure there were animations on China stable ROM? Because eu custom ROM is based of that.

Still I think it is a good idea to leave you phone to charge fully overnight, from the screens you seem to not do it very often. Check all you accounts for syncing errors.

@Poney70 is it too much trouble to ask to make a TWRP file?

I do not have this, what is shown as the offending app? Also have you left the phone alone overnight on charger to finish the system optimization?

Xiaomi proper works in mysterious and not very nice ways... This confuses me, are you using the RN8? It doesn't have any Chrome issues as far as I have seen, I use Chrome as my main browser.
