I don't think there is anything you can do to overwrite the memory manager. Someone mentioned in the weekly thread about a Magisk module that might help, you can have a look into that. -

I had this on my RN8, it was running out of memory I think. It was fixed in the latest weeklies or at least it is not happening anymore or because it was random I haven't seen it yet. -

Thanks for the reply, I have the 4GB one but it is not much more different than what you describe. I currently don't have root, but I will keep it in mind if it gets unbearable. Their memory usage is ridiculous. -

Can you check how much free memory you have on your RN8 and out of how much. Not related to Youtube, just general memory management. And don't check with the number in Recents that is way more than what is reported in other apps. -

The guys at Xiaomi keep dropping features from the RN8, the latest security app has no animations for the model, the weather app will be next, according to the weekly changelogs on telegram :D -

All the information I can share is that it is working for me on 21.05.20 but it was a dirty update over the previous weekly. Do you get an error or something?- dexterv

I haven't run into any of those problems on mine. Paste the summary of the crash and maybe someone might help. PS Scratch that, I just checked my file manager and the SD card was gone. A restart brought it back but I don't know what is happening. Anyone else with this issue? -

What exactly did you do step by step? It is working fine on mine. Feddback: The security patch is updated. They have also changed some stuff related to Wifi but it is too early to tell for certain. -

They show the last 24 hours. I think it has been like this for a while and on all models. If so it is a stupid design decision by Xiaomi, not their first one though and probably not their last...
