    MIUI 12.1 20.6.18

There are new animations for the (under-the-screen) fingerprint sensor of my "raphael" - you can choose between "Aurora", "Starlight", "Neon", Rhythm" and "Pulse", in Password & Security -> Fingerprint unlock -> (type in your password to make changes) -> Other -> Fingerprint animation.

    MIUI 12.1 20.6.18

Until now I'm really happy with this update, it is very snappy overall on my "raphael", and looks quite polished. The new animations for the fingerprint sensor are superb (although that's just cosmetics, I know). The only thing I now hope for is a good battery life - it wasn't really good in the...

Redmi K20 Pro to Mi 9T Pro conversion patch (Miui 11)

I had the Codered universal version installed, and it works fine. However, I think the conversion patch is no longer needed now, as the xiaomi.eu has finally corrected the stuff themselves. I tried now to install 20.6.11, and indeed it starts up with the Mi logo instead of the Redmi logo...

    MIUI 12.0 20.5.28

The update works fine on my raphael, very smooth and without obvious bugs. However, it uses around 20% more battery than last weeks version. I hope this will be fixed this week.

    MIUI 12.0 20.5.14

I cannot confirm this. The latest MIUI12 beta is just fine. It is suitable as the daily driver, but - of course - it is a beta that is a bit rough around the edges. No show-stopper bugs, but some minor annoyances. If you cannot stand this, don't use beta software!

    MIUI 12.0 20.5.14

In general, the ROM is working fine on my Mi9Tpro (Raphael), but there are a few design flaws and bugs with the notification shade and the new control center: * in the control center, there is no way to organize the icons, plus the icons are too big. The brightness slider should be a full line...

    MIUI 11.2 20.3.26 (Final)

The recommendation for a clean install is a catch-all advice that people give when they have no other idea. I don't doubt that there are instances where a clean install is the fastest way to solve a problem. Usually, however, it isn't necessary at all. I do clean installs very very rarely, and...

    MIUI 11.2 20.1.16/21 v3

does anybody still have the spontaneous reboot issue on Mi9Tpro ("raphael") that was partially but not totally dependent on GBoard and also made the phone crash in the round time selector?

    Smart plug zigbee without hub?

Watch out, Zigbee isn't as "standard" as it sounds. Xiaomi Zigbee devices (e.g. sensors) are not even compatible between different hubs of Xiaomi (Mijia or Aqara), but are plagued with geolocation locks and server incompatibilities. Do not assume that anything Xiaomi works with Zigbee devices...

    MIUI 11.2 20.1.9

I'm usually an "early adopter" and love to report beta bugs, but after the disaster of last week on my raphael (constant reboots, related AND unrelated to GBoard) I would like to wait until a few people have stepped in first this time. Especially as the changelog does not mention a fix of these...

    Smart plug zigbee without hub?

There is no way to modify a Zigbee device to work with WiFi. So, either buy a new socket, or buy a cheaper and actually working Zigbee hub. It's easy to find a Zigbee hub on the typical Chinese sites for between 15 and 30 Euro, or the same ones a bit more expensive on Amazon, or even locally if...

    Smart plug zigbee without hub?

If you buy the EU version of the hub, do not expect it to work with the huge majority of Zigbee devices. It's a major pain that only very few devices (sensors mostly, that are also sold in the EU) work with the hub, but other than that the hub is just a nice-to-look-at piece of useless hardware...

    MIUI 11.2 20.1.2/4

    1. Learn the difference between "pay" and "pray". In short: the first one works, the second doesn't. 2. You did CERTAINLY not pay the EU ROM developers (you should, though, using PayPal). They get ZERO money when you buy a phone from Xiaomi, but do all their work for free as a gift to the...

    MIUI 11.2 20.1.2/4

Yes, that's what happens in this ROM. Go back to the version before and live with the bugs that version had, or live with the current version for a week and hope for a fix on Friday. It's beta software after all, and sometimes this shows its ugly face. We choose to live on the edge, don't we?

    MIUI 11.2 20.1.2/4

No, that doesn't work. The "is displayed over" notification cannot be permanently removed or inactivated. It is disputable whether this counts as a bug or a feature, but it is certainly s-h-i-t-t-y af. The only way I found to suppress the notification is with NCleaner.

    MIUI 11.2 20.1.2/4

Use NCleaner from the Playstore - you have to run it once after each reboot, but other than that it works perfectly.

    MIUI 11.2 20.1.2/4

Yes, also on Mi9Tpro (raphael), but there the other bugs were so severe that I rolled back to 9.12.27. There I still have the grey bar bug, but at least the phone is usable otherwise...

    MIUI 11.2 20.1.2/4

    (1) yes, 9.12.27 was in fact the first ROM with the "grey bar" bug on my raphael. This was also the reason I eagerly wanted the new ROM, just to find out that 20.1.2 was wayyyyyy worse. (2) I don't use Netflix, so: no idea. But when I recall all the whining about Netflix on raphael, it...
