    Obviously here and there are problems with the standard MIUI music player. IMHO, I can recommend a very basic and lightweight alternative: Music Folder Player (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=de.zorillasoft.musicfolderplayer&hl=de)

    "normal" TWRP wipe means the built-in function of TWRP to wipe: is includes Dalvik+data+cache wipe. IMHO the stable is what is says: stable. If it really is better for YOU I cannot say... I use third party apps for music and browsing and I do not have any problems

    I did flash both stables for Mi4c as well as MiPad1 coming from 6.4.14 but I did the "normal" TWRP-wipe in both cases. I guess that is the best way...

    Maybe OT, probably a Google issue: even after having changed the device (from Mi2s to Mi4c) I cannot use Google backup and restore as the account is greyed out (see screenshot) Any ideas anybody?

    Fair enough... As long as you provide at least one stable sMIUI per device I guess most people are fine...

    Give him the time he needs... It may be a bit contradictory if we ask mainly for a ROM that is primarily stable on one hand and ask again and again for releases on the other...
