@sebsch: could you try to build a more "complete" ROM for MiPad? As of now theme manager, security app and even - although very important - an alarm clock is missing. If it is a base ROM issue, maybe you have a way around.... :-)
Can confirm this "China" problem: if flashing via TWRP during first install after reboot one can only select China as region... Apart from this the current version looks great...
It does not work with my car - with former sMIUIs I could a t least establish a connection but with poor quality. Now I cannot connect at all.... But I think it is only worth to look into that issue if I am not the only one... But if I remembr correctly, BT problems were mentioned in the past...
@sebsch: do you see any chance to fix the BT problem? At least with my Mi2s it never worked. I guess it's a base ROM problem but maybe you can fix it...
Could someone please briefly explain the different when wiping user data or even data partition is necessary? For my personal understanding, wiping cache partition and dalvik is sufficient in most cases for a "clean" flash...?
Can confirm this: when using the MI Backup almost all homescreen settings are lost and/or different (but I use Nova launcher, therefore it may be difficult to blame MIUI for this^^)
Not really - MIUI for MiPad, imho, is based on KK, whereas MIUI for Mi Phone (at least Mi2s) is based on LP. Therefore, "not eligle" is in fact a problem. Sometimes one can solve it with simply downloading and installing the apks...
Tipp for MiPad with sMIUI (KK): some apps such as Google Keep and Shazam are marked as "not compatible" in the Play Store. However, the apks can be installed without problems.... (www.apkmirror.com probably is the best site)
I got this "Update_CWM_recovery_MiPad_6.0.5.0.zip"... via Mi Recovery update method or fastboot?
EDIT: fastboot works, CWM, obviously, seems to be the better choice in case you need a custom recovery and there are problems with root.
Stupid me: I installed TWRP 284 on my MiPad, then current sMIUI but lost root. Any help appreciated...
Went back to Mi Recovery but same result. Even worse: some apps that worked before aren't "compatible" anymore (Google Keep for instance or Runtastic)
