This is not a Problem of twrp, it is a Problem of your Rom, all twrp Versions work fine with miui other Versions like AOSP need a spezial twrp from the Site, Lineage etc.

Gpay it´s a Google Problem, not the Rom, and for Mi8 there is a new Rom 10.3.3.0 china stable for 5 Days out.

What matters is which Rom you have installed. If you change from the dev to the stable and vice versa, you have to run a format data first, if you stay with the same Rom and only have a higher Version Number, you do not have to do anything. No wipe and no format (dirty flash)

Twrp 3.3.0.0 don`t run with Global Rom`s

I have found the Mistake of twrp 3.3.0-0. Today or Tomorro i link a download for my own patched Version. Mi8 and Port to MI8pro, the Feutures of the img have we since Dezember with 3.2.3-1208. But this Version is official from twrp team, i think they have future for AOSP Rom`s like Lineage.

Any installation command that uses "busybox" can not be processed. This is not used in a normal Rom installtion, so I also wrote mod's.

You don`t have all tested. Some Mod´s cant`t install, problem with mount etc.

There are many Problem`s with this Version for MI8
