What Phone you have? I have 3 Phone MI8 MI8pro and MI8 explorer Edition, on the MI8 i have installed the same Rom as you global dev there are no Problems on my Phone

for install twrp you can go two ways, 1 copy the new twrp to your Phone, go in your twrp, tab install and than tab image, select the new twrp.img 2 boot your phone into fastbootmode, connect your phone with usb and pc then open the adb tool/Ordner and flash the img with fastboot flash recovery...
