Why do you think this is an issue and not intended ? Many different devices get their ID spoofed to get all features working on xiaomi.eu. I'd assume on the A2 it's because it's not actually a MIUI device. My Mi Pad 4 also shows as Mi Mix 2s...it's fine.

Controlling my philips hue lights at home, searching for stuff while driving/walking, setting reminders or timers for stuff or when cooking...it's really useful. I for one am not upgrading my MI 8 from 9.3.14 until it's definitely fixed along with the Android/Android System battery drain

and ignore 3.2, 3.3 and 3.35 of simple kernel - they all have various issues. Mipa and sphinx kernel both have the miui camera portrait mode issue. App crashes or freezes when using it.

Give it a couple hours....then confirm if it's still working.

No, I was referring to the new way google assistant can be used on the lockscreen. That switch has been there for months and it was working in previous xiaomi.eu releases. I'm saying I very much doubt this is the reason OK google is bugged in last couple china releases.

Yup. This isn't a gmail but a general issue with different apps and has been happening for the couple last xiaomi.eu weekly releases.

Called it! This has been happening with various apps for the last couple weeks xiaomi.eu versions, most notably whatsapp

Confirming on Mi Pad 4 I'm assuming that uninstalling/reinstalling gmail will fix it
