Updater route is still a no go for M5. It does a fast decryption and asks for reboot then enters TWRP and no install. Trying to flash the file gives corrupted zip and redownload is needed. Direct flash in TWRP without problem and working good

Actually 6.12.29 was also Nougat To your question: never had any lag since the very first Nougat, flashed every weekly since then with cache/dalvik wipe

No data lost no matter how you choose to install Since several builds the updater route is uncertain, on Mi5 sometime after decrypting the file is corrupted and cannot be used anymore. The better option is to reboot in twrp and install the rom, afterwards just wipe cache/dalvik and reboot system

@ingbrzy Thanks for your hard work. 7.1.19 rendered both my Mi4 LTE and Mi5 64gb in uncertified state. Both flashed in twrp from previous weekly 7.1.12 Edit: 7.1.20 seemed to fix the issue only on first check, now again both devices are "Uncertified" in play store settings page Any suggestions...

To make things clear and simple: you should request unlock ASAP-it takes time to receive the permission, the unlock request is made on the web for Mi account, no phone, PC or other device related. Once unlock permissions are granted you may unlock multiple devices with waiting period 30 days...

Well, this is not mine only statement, it`s consistent with en.miui.com mods and admins replies. This is one of the answers to similar question: "The Mi4 bootloader is not locked yet, there hasn't been an official statement about that yet and until such has been made, it should be considered as...

    MULTI 7.1.5

Not necessary in my experience, data wipe is needed if going the other way but I`ve flashed many times from stable to weekly without a single problem The device is working good, there is at least one more person with uncertified kenzo(RN3pro) as post 377 shows so it seems this is not Mi4 only issue

None, no root, nothing. Just dirty flash of 7.1.5 with updater over stable 8.1.3 xiaomi.eu

As of my best knowledge there is no locked bootloader on any Mi4, have seen posts on en.miui.com moderators confirming that so you can safely ignore what fastboot check says and try to flash twrp, you should be successful I`ve done this several times on my Mi4 LTE and no lock whatsoever

It`s interesting to see if there are others with Uncertified status in play store settings after flashing latest weekly

Thanks, will see how the things go with next weekly Anyway if Xiaomi`s installer is the reason and it`s present also in Mi5 rom it doesn't seem to affect N based MIUI version, they said the new installer was included after negotiations with google...
