It`s not about localization, in this weeks beta(also on global) the weather app requires permissions for phone ID and storage. No idea why but if denied you cannot use the app, they are mandatory. Maybe someone with more knowledge would comment why was this change implemented

Not at all, system partition is rewritten during the flash and MIUI ages much better if updates are applied without wipes I`ve flashed that way my Mi4 every week from MIUI 7 to MIUI 8 including some very early daily builds and never faced any issue

Just press install/reboot, this is the easiest way to update. Your device will reboot in twrp and the script will do everything for you including reboot back to system. No need to wipe anything.

This is caused by the downgrade, dalvik/cache wipe only is not enough Data wipe is needed to prevent/fix such incompatibilities

Well, you are talking about first O build, it`s so immature even china beta is still closed and not ready for public release

Also there would be much less need for translation with many languages already included, just saying... I`m using 2 mido`s simultaneously, one with global and another with xiaomi.eu. The performance is similar but global`s notifications are much better in my opinion

It was discussed already several times since the first MIUI 9 build and was clearly pointed as xiaomi.eu implementation. I can`t stand it also and always change to x1 ASAP

Thanks for that. I see it requires root so it`s a no go for me, I do not root my phones Besides that xiaomi.eu has modified gps.conf file which is not changing anything in my device, having tried almost every rom possible I find it difficult to believe this will help in situation explained...

No problem flashing with twrp, in fact I`ve used updater to go from .eu to global beta, it reboots in twrp and flashes the rom. This is only required is one needs to preserve twrp as recovery and receive updates ota. After flashing global or china with "normal" twrp during reboot official MIUI...

Smooth rom on RN4 mido and Mi4, haven`t faced notifications loss, the scanner gets FC on document or business card on mido only. It works fine on Mi4. Those are no real bugs for me and I`m enjoying the rom as usual. Thanks BTW on global beta the issues described here are not present at all and...

True, despite "moderate rain" announcement and finding my location on the map there is no rain shown on that map. In the upper part the actual location is replaced with "somewhere on earth"

The question was about official MIUI stable to beta or beta to stable Regarding xiaomi.eu beta over stable is usually problem free after dirty flash but data wipe is strongly advised if moving from beta/weekly to stable

You cannot change global stable to beta or beta to stable wihout losing your data! Be awared and prepared with full backup on PC/alternatives as MIUI wipes the entire internal storage. It considers those changes from branch to branch to always be downgrade and askes twice at least before wipe.

Weather app got nice update in this weekly, way better now

This is not official MIUI feature. The devs here added it for us on Nougat devices, there are probably hardware requirements so...not available on MM Mi4.
