Same impression, not related to any particular rom. In my case started on 7.3.23 on Mi5 3/64, I was updating 3 apps, 2 of them updated but the third not with "waiting for Wi-Fi". Since then only uninstall play store updates is a temporary solution, any other method fails, haven`t tried beta tester

Same here! Apps are not "allowed" to autostart but always execute themselves and running , examples: camera, gallery, video?... This is happening on Mi5 and Mi4

This seems to be Qualcomm`s sign for quick charge, your device has MTK so...no quick charge icon It also seems to be only QC3 devices specific icon as I have it on Mi5 but not on Mi4(QC2) with same charger

Download again, reboot to twrp and flash the rom It was the same with first few builds for Mi5, if similar to Mi5 in order to regain ability to use updater clean fastboot flash of latest official beta should be done, than reflash twrp and .eu rom again

Are you on xiaomi.eu now? If not you cannot use updater(that`s what you are describing, wright?). TWRP must be present(flashed) and the first xiaomi.eu is always flashed with TWRP, afterwards usually updater can be used by selecting update package

This "other thing" is the stock MIUI recovery, if you see it you don`t have twrp anymore
