It is a Beta Rom With fresh Android Version (8=>9). Just dont bother With it, everything Else is fast and that is important. But yes it Takes a little Bit longer indeed.

I don´t really see differents to the previous versions. Just with one app, but this can be Adnroid 9 related. All in all it is usable and daily material i think, but do not excpect it to be bug free, it is a beta rom. You always have the possibility to use the stable version from xiaomi.eu

Correct, no reason for wiping anything for a "normal" udapte. So a update without changing OS Version oder going to/from Stable and so on. Always did that
