Quick question for @ingbrzy : there have been some "international" variants of Redmi Note 3 (and Redmi 3S, IIRC) that support the 800Mhz LTE band. Is the Xiaomi firmware compatible with these phones?

Xiaomi.eu used to provide OTA for the stables. Worked perfectly. Nowadays though stable firmwares are not uploaded at all to the OTA servers. Or so it seems. Which is a pity, considering that stables appear much more seldom than weeklies. IMHO, it would be better to skip pushing a weekly...

I believe so. But since you are coming from a non Xiaomi-based firmware, I would suggest to first flash an older Xiaomi fastboot image and only then proceed to flash the dev Xiaomi.EU one. Not an expert here, just how I would do it.
