Newer versions of *no-support-for-this-app-on-this-forum* work better and better on my Mi Note 2. With this one everything seems to work, including 60fps 4K video, except for slow motion and Lens, but they work in other apps. In your first post you show miflash trying to flash a "india_global" ROM? "sakura_india". I read somewhere that Xiaomi has started making special Roms for the Indian market. You should probably only try to flash the same sort of ROM that was on your phone when it was new, but the latest...

I don't think you can use miflash as long as the bootloader is locked. You should only flash the same ROM type as your device - China or Global. Stable or developer is not so important I think. No old version I would think - Sakura has ARB.

Sorry, I have no more ideas. Unless you can boot into recovery. If you have Mi recovery, not TWRP, you can I think install an official recovery rom.

You have to unlock your phone again, the official way. Then you can flash an official fastboot Rom with miflash. Otherwise I don't know what happened, I don't have your device.

Most devices do not let you use both wifi and the built-in hotspot at the same time. None of mine do, never have. There are apps on Play store that do this, have never tried them.

No thanks. You do understand what a hosts file is? Simpy a very long list in text format with redirections of various sites. Sites you want to block are simply redirected to a 'null' or garbage can site. The hosts file takes precedence over most everything else, way down in the basic internet...

What could possibly be done is to create one or a few standardized hosts files on a server here, like has been done for TWRP, with instructions as to how to install them from within TWRP, and how to modify them for special needs. I have found my hosts files on some unusual places, I don't know...

There is no one-size-fits-all version of hosts file. What suit one person will block something important for another.
