Installed on my Mix1 with no problems so far, but Note 2 is my working phone, and I'm travelling over the weekend, so got cold feet because everything is suspended back in China.
Will probably do it Sunday evening back in Sweden.
Where did you see that we get MIUI 11?
Android 9 I can do...
9.8.29 installed and working well so far on Mix1 (lithium).
Security patch still 20181001, modem file unchanged.
(I however do not use G.Pay, G.Assistant, have no sim card in it yet.)
The cleaner app is, or at least was last winter, a 3rd party app by "Cheeta", not made by Xiaomi.
It wanted to upload my whole file structure to its cloud somewhere, for analysis or something.
Cheeta were known for propagating adware and other such stuff.
Anyway, I disabled it then with no...
" . . due to the consideration of stability and software experience, Xiaomi 8 and Redmi Note 4X will not continue to maintain the "experience" (beta?) version after releasing the last version of 9.8.29."
Mi8 EOL (?!), or just no more weeklies?
These kinds of problems, if repeating for no good reason, might be hardware faults, e.g. faulty memory.
If you still have warranty / guaranty for the phone, think about trying to replace it with a new phone.
Interesting observations.
Is Chrome part of the system and not an app already?
Try turning off Full Screen Gestures and see if it works then.

"DELAYED DEVICES:

Mi Note 2 is now delayed for 3rd week, but -
"What, me worry?"
sadly defunct Mad Magazine
Any of our Chinese comrades know what is going on with the Mi Note 2?
"Delayed" beta now for second week, but not for the Mix1 - these two are oddly enough closely related, often even have the exact same modem files.
So something unusual is going on, but my Chinese is not good enough to find...
You can disable many of them via Settings/Manage apps.
No need to uninstall as many are considered system apps, you might need them at some point for some reason.
I disable the Mi calculator and have used this app by Mathlab for years, never had any problems.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=us.mathlab.android
(I disable internet for it in Netguard, works fine and never see any ads.)
That was interesting, don't recall ever seeing the video call option in any of my devices.
Maybe I just wasn't paying attention, but we always used Whatsapp the few times we did video calling.
Have not seen any settings for this in Mi Camera or any *no-support-for-this-app-on-this-forum*, but this is in Open Camera (max size selectable is 9GB):
Clearing all data in the Security app has previously always fixed this, as the settings for the data plan are kept by the Security app.
Maybe things have changed, I haven't had to do this for several months now.
You can check what the data plan settings look like by accessing them from within...
