You can try: Open Contacts app, open settings ( 3 dots upper right) Settings/More/Rebuild index data. If that doesn't help, try clearing all data for the Contacts app, and then restoring your contacts again. From Google backup, Mi Cloud backup, or from the backup file you should have taken.
