    New Wifi captive error 204

Du you have Adaway installed, or have you replaced the hosts file? That can cause this if the new hosts file blocks some address.

    MIUI 10 9.5.16/17

Did you mount system in TWRP before flashing? ( I haven't flashed my Note 2 yet, so can't say more for now.)

    Xiaomi MIUI Anti-Rollback checker Tool

You might look into how Xiaomi possibly exempts certain devices from the ARB check via the flashing script. I am thinking perhaps they set a certain value in the XBL file, then ignore it (for now, for some devices) via the flashing script. Just a hunch. I recall not understanding what the...

    Xiaomi MIUI Anti-Rollback checker Tool

Mi Note 3 "should" be exempt from Xiaomis bricking policy as it was released in 2017. To check the ARB level in the new Pie ROM yourself without flashing it first, you could try the method linked to indirectly in the previous posts in this thread. Here it is, it has worked for the few devices...

    Xiaomi MIUI Anti-Rollback checker Tool

The mechanical method ( looking at a certain hex address in the xbl file) behind the script seems also to be purely heuristic, and I have never seen an explanation as to where it comes from. The exact address seems to vary slightly in different devices, as noted by Nigel8. It does seem to...

    Xiaomi MIUI Anti-Rollback checker Tool

All OEMs are required by Google to implement ARB from Android 9, and may if they desire for Android 8. https://www.xda-developers.com/android-pie-rollback-protection/ The interesting question should be, what level of ARB is set for each ROM version, and how has the OEM implemented ARB...

Mi Router app not on Play Store?

I am now downloading the 9.5.16 updates directly to the hard disk on my old Mi Mini router. The router handles the whole procedure, no mobile phone needs to be involved after you set up the download via the Mi Router app. This is why I wanted to get the router app onto the Razer Phone also...

You have tried the floating keyboard, no? Push the 3 dots "•••" on the keyboard and choose "floating".

Try clearing all data for the Security app. That worked for a previous version on another device.

Mi Router app not on Play Store?

Wanted to install the Mi Router app on my Razer Phone to see if it works, but the app seems to not be available on Play Store anymore? Is it not supported any longer? I copied the apk from one of my Xiaomi phones, and it does seem to run normally on the Razer Phone, nothing else required from...

Global Beta ROM 9.5.9 or similar update for Mi Max/Prime

Understood. Xiaomi has previously said the the Max1 were to get a final stable 10.3, maybe they got lazy. Personally I don't care, eu 9.1.3 is running fine. There is always LineageOS for flashaholics, and anyone who needs Xiaomi-free and/or Google-free Android. Unofficial version seems...

    MIUI 10 9.5.9

Had the wild auto brghtness fluctuations in my Mix1 immediately after flashing. I went into Settings/Display/Brightness and toggled it off & on, and fiddled with the slider there back and forth. After that it has worked normally. Might not help you, buy is easy and painles to try.

    MIUI 10 9.5.9

My point made was too subtle, perhaps - If Google becomes tired of what Magisk is doing, they could quite easily shut it down in any number of ways. Nicely, so that it just stops working, or hamfistedly, like Xiaomi with ARB, so that folks using it brick their phones with no recourse...

    MIUI 10 9.5.9

Magisk is interesting, a one-man multi-year ongoing duell with Google, run by one (1) admittedly very talented college student. I'm not saying whether anyone should or should not use Magisk, but everyone who does should have an understanding of the proportions involved.

    MIUI 10 9.5.9

Now for no particular reason I had Autostart enabled for 69 apps in my Mi Note 2 (should be 6). This two days after updating the ROM. This happened previously in the Mi Mix1, has not returned after disabling them. But now in the Mix1 I could not update 2 apps in Play store over wifi, it just...

Global Beta ROM 9.5.9 or similar update for Mi Max/Prime

The latest EU weekly is just 9.1.3. There is an early version of "Night mode" in it. Xiaomi.eu decided to EOL the Max1 then, somewhat earlier than Xiaomi did. If you want a better "Night mode", you might wait and try the new EU stable 10.2.2.0. If it has "Night mode", I don't know. Yes, the...

Global Beta ROM 9.5.9 or similar update for Mi Max/Prime

Mi Max 1 (hydrogen & helium) are EOL, last releases eu 9.1.3, last official China & Global 9.2.28. Xiaomi has just released global & China stables 10.2.2.0, means there will probably be an eu version soon. I am running eu 9.1.3, works fine, am not planning on installing any stable, for now at...

Xiaomi Services Framework in Mix1? It is running in mine, but has consumed no battery after 2 hours.

    MIUI 10 9.5.9

There you said something - In my Mix1 (lithium) I found 56 apps with permission to autostart, where there should be only 4. 128 other apps remained without permission. This is including system apps. In my Note 2 (scorpio) however, everything remained as it should be. Curious . . . . Haven't...
