There are ways, searh google. Also like I did, you can get unofficially unlocked from chinese sellers (and also it came with modified MIUI ROM).

Or BL got locked again... Maybe unofficialy unlocked before? Also make sure the right drivers are installed for fastboot mode to work...

Which one do you recommend and why. All have similar benchmark results, all have Marshmallow MIUI 8 (.eu dev). Please explain choise, not just because it's newer model, because it had SD soc etc. Thank you all for helping.

Same happened to me... My bootloader got locked. Go to fastboot, make sure the right drivers are installed, and unlock the bootloader with official miunlock. It should boot normaly, only downside is your data will be encrypted... Have to do factory reset from twrp with data wipe.

In weather app there is newer "foggy" and even at night it is "sunny". Is it translation (slo) related or rom? From screenshots on forums users have this right. It is strange when fog all day and it says sunny or at midle of the night sunny.

Only difference in real life is with unlocked you can install 3rd party recoverys like TWRP which is needed for custom ROMs like xiaomi.eu rom.
