MIUI 11 MIUI 11.0 STABLE RELEASE

No need to root. Rooting is applied to the system you're currently running. And since you want to change the system (to Xiaomi.eu, presumably), rooting is pointless since you'll lose it. As for the backup, you can also make a full backup of your current system with TWRP, that's fine.

MIUI 11 MIUI 11.0 STABLE RELEASE

Unfortunately, you fell into the trap called "ForceEncryption". If you flash a different ROM, all the data on the phone will become unreadable due to encryption. At this point, the only thing you can do is either restore the ROM you had previously from a backup (hope you made one...) or wipe the...

New MIUI 11.0 - alarm app does not always show on the screen

Good to see it's not just me, higher chance to see this get fixed :) For now I switched to Google's Clock app, worked just fine this morning. Might be related to DND since I'm using it too.

New MIUI 11.0 - alarm app does not always show on the screen

What I expected: when the alarm goes off, the app unlocks the phone and shows up on the screen, allowing me to snooze or turn off the alarm right away. What sometimes happens: when the alarm goes off, the screen stays off, forcing me to unlock the phone, expand notifications, click the alarm...

MIUI 11 MIUI 11.0 STABLE RELEASE

Magisk is absolutely optional, no root by default.

MIUI 11 MIUI 11.0 STABLE RELEASE

Thank you, Magisk 17.1 was the key! Now it works, but having to go so many versions back just to have it not break the boot process... Oh well. For anyone else who has this issue, this is exactly what I did (if this matters, I used TWRP 3.3.0 for this): - Flash Magisk Uninstaller - Flash Magisk...

MIUI 11 MIUI 11.0 STABLE RELEASE

Yeah that's exactly what I did. I already asked on xda but I'm open to suggestions from either.

MIUI 11 MIUI 11.0 STABLE RELEASE

Followed the steps exactly, didn't work, now it's a bootloop (device stuck at POCOPHONE for about 5 seconds, turns off, gets stuck again, rinse and repeat). I was running Pixel Experience since day three of owning this phone, now I wanted to give MIUI 11 a shot, but without Magisk it's as good...

MIUI 11 MIUI 11.0 STABLE RELEASE

It was a clean flash, I don't even have any modules yet. I have the Magisk Uninstaller zip, that's what I'm using to regain ability to boot. But trying to install Magisk again isn't effective, tried a lot of versions too (18.0, 18.1, 19.0, 19.3, 20.0).

Bumping it up, having the same issue, any suggestions?

MIUI 10 MIUI 10 STABLE RELEASE

I was still able to access TWRP, it just asked me for a password to decrypt data.

How to disable adaptable storage and turn SD card into portable storage again?

I had this option when I inserted an SD card. Out of curiosity, I picked "Adaptive Storage", but I didn't like it. So I want to disable it. Googling mentioned some ways. One would be to remove the SD card, which would cause the system to show a notification about a removed card, also allowing...

MIUI 10 MIUI 10 STABLE RELEASE

Does that cause TWRP to not ask for the decryption password? I had a backup of the previous system. I tried to restore it, then the previous system started asking for a password as well, and didn't take any of my passwords.

MIUI 10 MIUI 10 STABLE RELEASE

TWRP also asks for a password to decrypt data, so unfortunately that won't help me a whole lot. Also I need a working phone rather quickly, so after re-evaluating what I'm about to lose from formatting internal storage, I decided I'm biting the bullet. An old backup will do for me, so I...

MIUI 10 MIUI 10 STABLE RELEASE

Installed 10.3 on my Poco F1, now I can't boot because it shows the "To start Android, enter your password". On the previous ROM I had a pattern lock, but I removed it before installing the ROM. I tried to use this image for reference to turn my pattern into a number, but it doesn't accept it...

Encryption on POCO F1 - how useful is it really?

Hello, I've been using the POCO F1 for a few weeks, and there's something I've noticed. I noticed that the device is encrypted by default, but if I understand correctly, it seems like it's using some generic password/passphrase, since: 1. Despite being encrypted, the phone boots up as usual, it...

    MIUI 10 9.6.5

Have you wiped "system", "cache" and "data" before installing the ROM? If not, wipe them and try installing the ROM again. Also make sure the ROM was downloaded properly. Redownload it and copy it over from your PC to your phone via USB (internal storage or SD card shouldn't make a difference).

    MIUI 10 9.6.5

Making a backup is one thing, if you're facing issues, you also have to restore it, and wipe the cache partition as well. I'm not telling you how to fix the issue, I'm just telling you how to roll back the changes so your phone is again in the working condition. I see no reason why restoring a...

    MIUI 10 9.6.5

Back up your system and data partitions in TWRP and try to update. If it fails, you'll be able to roll back. Also I'd just like to say hello after hiding in a hole for so many years :D Last time I was here is when I was trying MIUI on my Desire Z and Nexus 5. Now that I have a Pocophone F1, I...

    MULTI 6.6.23

Why in the world are some of these phones still running on Kitkat? Wouldn't it be simplier to develop MIUI on one version of Android instead of four different ones? Also hoping for MIUI 8 to appear on hammerhead :)
