Mi4 Lte Ramdom Reboots [with Logs]

Just a small update from my side. Erased with fastboot everything that gets flashed in emergency mode with rawprogram0.xml. Rebooted to blank then emergency mode rom flash, then straight to fastboot, flashed twrp, booted to twrp, complete wipe and flashed .eu rom. Got a reboot within less than...

@zegio What rom are you on? What was your method of installing?

Mi4 Lte Ramdom Reboots [with Logs]

Thanks I will try that with the next test. For now I'm gonna try the method I mentioned first as I don't want to bother gf too much with testing :) Keeping fingers crossed that you guys are on to something with this kernel!

Yeah my initial suspicions were something to this effect as well, something wants to get written/dumped and fails then tries again until it can skip it. This is so interesting, we kind of never considered that maybe the same problem exists in KK too but due to such a different power management...

Mi4 Lte Ramdom Reboots [with Logs]

What's interesting to me is how many people have long periods without reboot then all of a sudden more than one in a short period. Same thing happened to me. Now gf reports to me many consecutive reboots and almost getting worse, even 3 per day. So what exactly could be happening, what happens...

Mi4 Lte Ramdom Reboots [with Logs]

I've compared .eu stable and china stable before and am not seeing what you're seeing but like I said we probably have a different interpretation of what based on is. No worries mate I'm not embarrassed and frankly it's not important as all versions have reboot issues anyway and that's what this...

This is simply not true. Yes the numbering system supports what you're saying but you're basing this on zero actual facts. One quick example I can give you is the new 8.0.1.0 mi4c .eu stable, yet there's no such china stable version, but ok, maybe the .eu team has beta testers or rather access...

Mi4 Lte Ramdom Reboots [with Logs]

I've checked and edited (for personal use) many .eu stables and I haven't seen any indication that they're based on china stables. But I freely admit I could be wrong. Please give me some proof?

Mi4 Lte Ramdom Reboots [with Logs]

I think they're based on china dev roms not stables as they are much more "hack" friendly and also they have to keep them bootlock free for various xiaomi phones. You can easily check what versions the .eu stables are based on. This is why I'm not really sure what's stable about them, perhaps...

You mean right after or can it be later?

So this means that MM doze mode is the problem? Or rather some app maybe tries to wake the phone up constantly and phone crashes.

This kind of supports my 7.1.5.0 KK over MM partitions experience. I had reboots there too because that KK version was too big for ~600mb. If someone is willing to try MM on KK partitions I'll be happy to strip a MM version down, but it would be left with the bare minimum, meaning no apps...

Mi4 Lte Ramdom Reboots [with Logs]

Keep in mind xiaomi.eu "stables" are based on china dev roms. It's entirely different to official stables. Possibly not even the same version. On my end we reached 200 hrs then 2 reboots in 2 days, so this is something completely random. @Gingernut you said some guy reported reboots with KK...

Mi4 Lte Ramdom Reboots [with Logs]

Sounds like a deeper issue in your case, considering the amount of reboots you have and apps crashes. Although I've seen people reporting Whatsapp problems before on miui forums.

Yes for normal package install via twrp or miui recovery.

Mi4 Lte Ramdom Reboots [with Logs]

If anyone already on MM is willing to try 7.1.2.0 KK global theory on merged partitions and flash via miflash, just edit the flash*.bat script (whichever one you use) and instead of system+system1 put just system, same for modem and boot and that's it nothing else no scripts necessary. And...

Mi4 Lte Ramdom Reboots [with Logs]

No solution yet, apart from running 7.1.2.0 KK global. With MM the reboots are completely random and can either happen frequently or infrequently, it's totally weird.

Mi4 Lte Ramdom Reboots [with Logs]

My last reboot 48 hours ago happened while I was trying to rearrange an icon on the screen.. Maybe someone can ask a dev to make some sort of a small logging app that can run in the background and gather the exact information they need to get to the bottom of this.

Mi4 Lte Ramdom Reboots [with Logs]

With adb shell you can delete /dev/block/mmcblk0p21 this is the persist partition if you're on MM and mmcblk0p22 if you're on KK. Well I can scratch the sensors theory, the phone rebooted before my eyes. I was rearranging icons on screen and it rebooted while I was dragging the icon. Rom is...

Mi4 Lte Ramdom Reboots [with Logs]

Yeah my mistake it actually never gets flashed in either case normal or fastboot. So don't really know what to conclude from this but as you can see it is kind of important for sensors. It's weird that you needed root, at first I just uploaded via adb shell and it worked without root also. I...
