No, you don't need to. I just wonder at what version did rotation get broken, maybe we can find a MM persist that works and possibly increase compatibility.

Yes you just can do "fastboot flash persist persist.img" and reboot. But make sure you have the original too in case something goes wrong. You can back it up to for example internal storage sdcard by going adb shell then dd if=/sdcard/persist.img of=/dev/block/mmcblk0p21 and you'll have it saved...

If it's working then I have another theory. What if the motion/proximity sensors are the culprit? I've been researching a bit while trying to find a fix for rotation and it seems it's also related to a lot of stuff bluetooth/gps included. If memory serves @jc rey method was to fastboot flash...

Is your screen rotation working? Everywhere?

Mi4 Lte Ramdom Reboots [with Logs]

Personally I think this is the likeliest issue, something to do with network possibly even sim card reading. Btw anyone know of a version where auto rotation works? I'm shocked to find that in official gloal 7.5.1.0 it doesn't work. Also I cant get customized china 7.5.6.0 to work. Probably...

Did you add the parameters to build.prop? ro.product.mod_device= drm.service.enabled= ro.com.google.gmsversion=

Ok thanks for the heads up. I haven't tried something like this yet so I'm sure there will be plenty of problems :)

For exactly this purpose I was trying to find out if it has something to do with preinstalled gapps. :p edit: And also because the current 7.5.3.0 autorotation doesn't work and I think the light sensor is also not working properly. Not keen on installing dev roms just yet and don't want to go...

Mi4 Lte Ramdom Reboots [with Logs]

No idea if it doesn't, haven't tried it yet. But it probably does just like the last dev roms. You can install open gapps after you flash the rom. http://opengapps.org/ here you can build your gapps for installing via twrp. Pico is the very basic option and it's also what's installed with...

I'm just backing up current and about to install china stable 7.5.6.0 that I modded a bit but I need to install gapps unfortunately gf needs it. Gapps incompability could very well also be affecting things. _mam _global suffixes and also google gms version etc.

Yeah very interesting thought, kind of like a soft reset. I was surprised at the last reboot we had few hours ago, the phone was on the table whole time although we weren't looking at it I'm sure it would've caught my eye if something happened on the screen like a reboot logo or screenlock...

That's really weird. Well if someone wants to play with battery stats there are plenty of guides online but it's dangerous and has to be done precisely. edit: Oh nevermind then :D

Has anyone tried deleting the battery stats file after a fresh flash so it gets rebuilt?

This sounds a lot like cache issues to me. My gf's reboot does around a 4% battery drain. You guys get a bigger drain?

Just checked all 3 NON-HLOS.bin files for official 7.1.2.0 and .eu 7.1.3.0 and 7.1.5.0. All 3 have the same baseband version it seems. edit: 7.5.6.0 for example has v4
  16. B

Mi4 Lte Ramdom Reboots [with Logs]

Yes I'm thinking the same, .eu 7.1.5.0 KK is based on dev rom 6.3.31 which is far later version to official 7.1.2.0, perhaps baseband was already updated then. For example just one earlier version .eu 7.1.3.0 KK is based on dev rom 6.1.7, this is a big leap in versions. And if indeed it's...

It could be worth a try. These apps by no means have to be installed with system. Miui browser, email, etc. if you like them are all standalone apps I think and can be downloaded from either play store or miui.com. And for google stuff you can install open gapps like xiaomi.eu does anyway.

Mi4 Lte Ramdom Reboots [with Logs]

You would have to manually remove all the "unnecessary" stuff from the rom like browser, email, google stuff and various apps like that in order to make the system small enough to fit on a ~600mb partition, then it should work IMO. Right now I'm not convinced there's a reboot free option. :P
  19. B

Mi4 Lte Ramdom Reboots [with Logs]

Yes it should be the same but if partition flashing isn't present in that rom's .bat then partitions would stay unmerged after flashing. That is if you're on KK still. Always add the line in .bat with all fastboot roms it's the surest way to get partition compatibility. The scripts were...

Mi4 Lte Ramdom Reboots [with Logs]

Yes I tried fastboot flash via emergency mode when I was using 7.1.5.0 KK, still reboots. I don't think there's a difference between normal fastboot flash and EDL, apart from that in EDL rom is basically forcibly flashed no questions asked. Right now it's been over 50 hours on gf's 7.5.3.0...
