Xiaomi.eu ROMs are not based on china ROMs anymore. The only thing they include from china ROMs is Automated Tasks. That's it.
China ROMs have a much more stable system and they also have a wonderful permission manager.
If you don't believe me, go ahead and install a china ROM on your device...
Did you follow the instructions on this page or the one I linked from miui.com? Note that all you had to do was copy a file named icons. That's all I did.

Mi 5s Plus doesn't have the 7.12.14 China ROM but instead they released v7.12.15 for it.

No offense, but I don't like your custom icons. It's better to stick by default icons and let users change their app icons themselves. It's hard to identify apps because of those icons, not to mention the background icon color being black instead of white. With the black background...

I just installed the latest stable ROM for my Mi 5s plus. But there's no option in the updater for turning off auto-update and enabling update via wifi only.
