Yep it's dumb. Recently tock the step and changed to another AOSP rom since (unofficial) TWRP has working android 12 decryption support. But that version can not decrypt older android versions. Maybe not even boot into older android roms.
Finally working gesture control with third party...
Known problem. Seems even some other phones got the problem now.
In that thread there is a temporary workaround if you've got tasker.
https://xiaomi.eu/community/threads/12-5-10-some-recent-apps-not-open.62666/
Thread mentioned an alternative. If rooted/magisk available a specific system...
Other custom AOSP rom developers seems to still be active. At least there is still the choice to install another Android 12 custom rom. Just have to look out for difference between GAPPS and vanilla build versions. Maybe some more exotic ones where root/magisk is needed to get working safetynet...
Hope for a new stable rom dies at last.
Seems like there won't be any official updates anymore even though the last official MIUI rom is buggy as hell...

Not even security...
Can confirm for 12.5.1 and 12.5.2
2. Aggressive closing of applications in the background
If i remember correctly up to 12.1.2 there was no "bug" for force closing of background apps.
(All only tested with xiaomi.eu)
Maybe by updating last "stable" rom in buggy state Xiaomi is deprecating...
In the half day usage i haven't found any additional errors (besides the already existing third party launcher recents bug).
But background apps are getting shut down more aggressively than before. Especially when starting a bigger app/game. Bad side of having a snappier smoother UI (enhanced...
Just started the online update[2.8GB] over the internal Xiaomi.EU Updater to MIUI 12.5.2.0.RJCNXM (from MIUI 12.5.1.0.RFJCNXM stable)
Changelog similar to the stable beta CN release (Optimized system performance, Improved system security and stability)
Changelog (Xiaomi.EU)
System
General...
Just tried that. Doesn't help me. Error can still be forced by changing to the standard theme.
Seems to have something to do with the new "improved animations" in MIUI 12.5. Could be that Xiaomi cut corners and put required code into the active launcher/foreground code instead of the general...
Same problem for just released Redmi K20 stable MIUI V12.5.1 (xiaomi.eu_multi_HMK20MI9T_V12.5.1.0.RFJCNXM_v12-11.zip)
Third party Nova launcher 7.0.45 BETA. Irregularly non working recent apps.
Tasker hack working here too.
Edit:
Btw error directly forceable by setting theme to standard.
If...
Since it works for you from stable to stable and (at least 59 others on telegram thread installed that version) i have just updated it too.
But to be sure that twrp(decrypting) is working i first manually restarted into recovery where i inputted my pattern lock. Then selected, installed...
Seems like the V12.5.1.0.RFJCNXM is still classified as stable beta for the original china rom. Was already suprised why there was no public beta timeframe. Let's see when xiaomi deems this china version as stable for a roll out to everyone. Maybe there is a need to get a patch version pushed...
Question.
Read that some custom roms have minimal/recommended firmwares versions. Example the pixel experience guide (https://krispitech.com/how-to-download-install-pixel-experience-custom-rom-on-xiaomi-redmi-note-10/ )
Is it needed/recommended to update and/or match the Firmware to the rom...
What a shame that the updater cannot handle auto updates from stable to stable.
Than i'll predownload and wait a few days (in case the original china rom introduced any big error) before updating.
Is there a need to remove/deactivate lockscreen (pattern/pin/pwd) or can twrp(latest original...
Have just seen the release announcement for the new 12.5.1 stable version on the telegram channel

It only seems complicated since i nearly wrote every step. There is no WINDOWS bat file. the bat file which you have read about could be the "Flash_TWRP.bat" from "http://www.mediafire.com/file/xqf8k1c80qzn3d6/twrp-3.3.1-2-davinci-fix.zip/"
This i have written under my preparation steps under...
Sad for Xiaomi/Redmi that they don't convey to their customer that GMS is not working or that they reintroduced GMS for specific devices.
Just read about https://www.gizmochina.com/2021/05/29/latest-redmi-k40-gaming-edition-update-brings-support-for-google-mobile-services/ where they even wrote...
Also true.
Alright, for now i'll simply run on stable/old until i'm missing something or reading of some new must have feature in the weekly version or in the updated system apps
What a pity. Weekly seems easier to manage than learning how to root and create magisk modules.
Hopefully there will not be any bugfix or feature update of system apps that i'll miss on stable line.
Personally don't want to flash a "new" rom every week. From what i heard weekly is mostly...
I read that it is not recommended and possible to try to update miui system apps with the original miui apps. (Phone, Contacts, Camera, Themes, Wallpaper and similar)
