You would be able to update without hassle using Settings IF the Android 11 update was official, the thing is that currently there isn't one yet. So it's like any other device in that regard, you either wait for official update or you have to use alternative ways. In my case I did investigate...

I was trying the same as I recently purchase this device... From what I found you have to: Unlock the Bootloader. Flash a custom recovery (I chose OrangeFox). Download xiaomi.eu_multi_HMNote9ProEU_V12.5.2.0.RJZMIXM_v12-11.zip (latest stable/android11). Flash the zip on custom recovery. It's...
