Don't bother to get anything running. The fake is a crappy phone. I didn't manage to get playstore running without crashes.

I don't know where you got the idea I wanted to save some money. My fake from aliexpress costed more than my M2 from ibuygou... And no change in creditcard number whatsoever.

The M2 comes with dragontrail glass. Before my M2 I had a HTC HD2 with gorillaglass. This phone has no scratches after 3 years of use without screen protector. However, my M2 already has 2 scratches on the display after 1.5 month of use. So needless to say I believe dragontrail glass is less...

Finally some good news about my fake M2. After Aliexpress did nothing for me, and the buyer didn't respond to any of my messages, I reclaimed my money from the creditcard company (fraudulent sale). Yesterday they refunded the money paid for the fake M2. So a happy end for me. And yes, I do...

Titanium backup won't work without root access. However I can confirm working touchscreen!

If I want to try this new version (wondering if the touch screen would work) what is the best way to make a backup of my M2 so I can easily go back to my current miui setup?

Too bad about your experience, but all turned out all right in the end. I have a fake and a genuine M2. It is impossible to tell which one is real, having them next to each other. So be careful!

I've tried several versions in various combinations. Miui works like a charm (currently on .25), stock Android doesn't work with touchscreen. JLB5 also gives a non responding touchscreen. However love this phone no matter what! Bought my phone in January from ibuygou.

I did find a workaround! In Google Play download MiHome. With this loader installed you can apply whatever theme you like. No xiaomi account needed. Works like a charm.

Downloaded everything from scratch from xiaomi.cn Wiped everything, installed using updater, using bootmanager, even tried fastboot again. All with the same result. Flashing goes perfect, but you are stuck with an Android lockscreen and a touchscreen that doesn't work.

Went over the whole procedure again. Same results. Touchscreen not working. Is it possible it has something to do with first flashing to JLB10? :confused:

Will try again tomorrow. Flashed 3 times with same results. Back at miui at the moment.

Same problem here. I could install themes when the phone came out of the box. Without xiaomi account. After flashing rom no themes will install. Same error message.

After I install this one, the touchscreen doesn't work. I can't unlock the startscreen. So I can't do anything but to flash back to miui.... :confused: Flashing was done using miflash in fastboot mode.

I installed it, and it works. Used miflash to install.
