Downgrade to stable fails - help pls

I am trying to downgrade from weekly to daily because I can't get rid of the google calendar sync error and the phone contacts not showing when called bugs.
So I went to TWRP and formatted the data partition. Reboot and wipe in advanced wipe. Copy stable on and then try to install and I get the error
xiaomi assert failed update_dynamic_partitions
every time I try to install either the weekly or the daily ROM. The weekly ROM starts up but still has the errors. Any idea how I can go back to stable?

Basically you need to reset the phone from the OS and NOT enter any pin because otherwise it'll be encrypted.
