Okey I have big problem - I have mi 8, i updated via dirty flash, everything okey. Then I went into settings, entered encrypt and now the phone boots into recovery( twrp.1110). I tried to format data and so on and I get an error (failed to mount....invalid argument). What to do? Should I hit rm forceencrypt into twrp or I do not know...Please help me get out of this situation...
If I flash global stable from mi flash tool will it fix that?
Well obviously my twrp doesnt recognize the encryption(I conclude because the data is with 0 size). Should I hit remove dm - verity or remove forceencrypt or both? Thank you in advance!

I've done that, but I think TWRP will not let the system finish.

have you tried with these two versions of TWRP?

this one is the latest china version (modded to be in english)
https://forum.xda-developers.com/mi-8/development/recovery-twrp-3-2-3-1110-t3869729

and this one is builded from infrag
TWRP 3.2.3.0:
Build 17/12/2018
Build on Android 9.0 TWRP sources

I've had various bugs with other versions of TWRP on xda. I've compiled my own version of it.
This build can now PROPERLY decrypt data and back it up.
Thanks to @notsyncing for helping with the drm twrp bug.
