How can I confirm which version of Mi 8 I have? Chinese vs. Global?

I'm 99% sure I have Dipper (regular Mi 8, not Pro/SE/Lite/Youth), but do I have Chinese or Global? My Google Pay doesn't work, which suggests I have the Chinese version, but my bootloader is locked... and I thought a Chinese phone with English language ROM would have to be unlocked (since they have to unlock & flash custom ROM for international sale).

Here's what else I know:

• Running MIUI 10.3.4 Stable (PEACNXM)
• RAM: 6 GB
• Storage: 64 GB (maybe 6/64 will narrow down options)
• Snapdragon 845, 3400 mAh, 6.21 screen

Am I running some weird combo of China ROM + English language + Google Play installed? Anyway to confirm or rule this out? I'm confused

This device has Google Play Store and I can successfully install apps like Google Fit, Netflix, etc.
But Google Pay does NOT work.
And bootloader is locked.
