glad to hear that
i will tell you about my findings these days..
Noticed one bug (may not be a bug too). While I receive the calls, if the number is with ISD code and the person who calls from local, it doesn't show the name of the person.
For ex, the number I stored in the Address book as +966xxxxxxxxxx and the person is calling, the phone displays 0xxxxxxxxxx instead of his name.
I have disabled the "Spelling suggestions" in the Language & Inout, yet it's suggesting me while typing the SMS. Possible to fix it?
You have an option in dialer settings to disable the country code to be shown. This will show the originally stored contact number.
But, in messaging, there is still a bug when the contact is unrecognizable (if it is not with the complete country code) and only shows number. This will be fix in the new miui base.
And about the spelling, you have to disable it in two places, on is in LANGUAGES & INPUT, and the other is when you click on the keyboard settings button you will see a TEXT CORRECTION section and disable it there too..
NEW Version is up. Enjoy it!
Fixed small bugs with su and status bar.. New v3 should be fine. Flash and report
Great ROM!! one problem though, cant see the notification bar, i mean, no time, no notification icons, i wonder if there is something in the setting that i need to alter
No, just flash the v3 which i posted today. It has fixed all the status bar and wallpaper issues
How to enable root on this ROM?
I need to access a directory within /data
If you have installed it, then root it enabled by default. You should use a file explorer lise ES Explorer and enable root option. Then enable mount system as read/write. The go to the "/" root of the device and choose to do what ever you like.
Just be cautious, you can damage your system if you modify or delete/add files. Be sure you know what are you doing..
Hmm thanks for the info. I don't know ES Explorer could do that.
Anyway, since root is enabled by default, so I just used su and copied some files to /data via Terminal Emulator
Yeap, you can always use terminal commands but, in ES you have that option in settings, just enable it. Then go to top-left icon "favorites" and press on "/". .That is the root on your phone.. After that is up to you
Yes, but you have to use angel camera from the market, it is free. In the second post you can read the guide on how to make it work 100%. The stock camera has glitches on the top left corner.
The new version of the rom will come with great improvements in the camera. But when i don't know, there are some bugs still. You can check this version if you want to try the MIUI goodness it is worth it..
NEW build is up. The best MIUI ICS rom so far. Many improvements and the stock camera works flawlessly
Please test and report if there is any issue.. Happy flashing!
have the ROM yesterday tested, up to the Login everything was OK when I had to give then passwords, for example, with drop box the keyboard was double and one could write nothing, could not thereby test further......

The download link (http://www.wuala.com/Dekkyy111/Documents/RD-MIUI_ICS_2.3.23_v2.zip/ ) doesn't seem to be working for me....Any mirrors?
I just tested it, it seems fine. Try again. I have no mirrors sorry, but can make one if there is a problem still..
If i understand you right, there is a MIUI problem with the pin request on this build. And for the keyboard stuff, if i get you right, the graphical glitches that you have and can not see the text box will be fix soon. It is a problem with the new adreno drivers...
The link seems to be working now. Thanks!!
Could you suggest what else do I need to flash apart from the ROM to make it run correctly on Inspire 4G? InspireMod? Also, which kernel should I flash along?
You'r welcome! You do not need anything else to run it. It has a great kernel, already included into the ICS base, as well as Inspire fix.. So, just do full wipe and install..
Bear in mind that the themes are not working 100% with ICS base still. This is a MIUI bug (among other small ones), but that is why its called Beta ROM. You can experience some minor graphical glitches (random), but just press the home button and they are gone. The next version will fix many of them.
Updated to the newest build yesterday and I have been tinkering with my phone since. I have the Inspire 4G. Here is my feedback:
I cannot delete photos from my camera roll. I have to manually delete them on my computer.
I hear a soft popping sound every now and then when I open up apps. I remember getting much louder pops and fixed the issue with the inspire fix for tinny sounds.
Graphical scrambling, as mentioned by many here already.
Sometimes my phone would hang after I unlock it. I would have to unlock again to get past it. Again, random issue.
Overall the rom is smooth, but it has its hiccups every now and then. Nothing major.
And yes, I did a full wipe and cleared cache before and after flashing the rom.
I also noticed that my Inspire is clocked at 1.1 Ghz. Is it possible to OC it more? I read that anything beyond 1.25 is bad. Opinions?
Ok, i just tested the new build v3 of the same ROM. Many bugs including the graphics problem are fixed. PIN request functions normal and the overclock is stable (on my DHD) up to 1.8 GHz..
The sounds are like that standard now, you can change them with different ones according to you wish. The camera also functions as it should, but still no usable video recorder
Wait for 10-15 min and i will update OP with the new version for you. Test and tell me what's going on You will like it sure...
EDIT: OP Updated with new download link and a NEW VIDEO of the 2.3.23 build. Enjoy!
